How about adding an option to open in 'browser/fullscreen' mode instead of 'viewer/fullscreen' mode when opening images from outside of XnView? So users can jump between browser and fullscreen faster [and it's tabless], plus helps avoid the bug with the slow resize of viewer fullscreen.
Or add an option to disable viewer mode.

It already exists!
It's in options -> general -> mode when starting a file.
Also, the time is long past to ask for all these new features. All of the threads that have any merit will be dumped into postponed and then back to the main suggestions, so you might as well make them there in the first place.
