Ratings are visible only in folder assigned?

Hi there,

is it correct that the color ratings and color tags are shown only in the folder where they have been assigned? I rated a picture and then moved it to another folder. In the new folder none of the ratings are visible, but when i move the picture back to the original folder all color tags/ratings are shown again.

When you copy/move file, i don't copy rating/color information

Why is that? Info should be assigned to file and moved with file.
Of course if someone moves file outside of XnView the info can't be updated, but otherwise it should.

I agree. It would make no sense at all to use the rating information if it will not be copied inside XnView. If a picture/file is rated as an excellent one it will stay this regardless in which folder it is placed.

By the way, if you need to make a change because of the ratings anyway, would it be possible to make the ratings searchable? It would be a nice feature if one could search for all excellently rated pictures for example.

Sorry currently with RC, i don't add/change new feature...

Is fixed for files/pictures moved.
For files copied the rating is not kept, but i think this behavior is alright.
