Any way to avoid multiple open views of an image?

Post by J Smith »

On menu, tools, options, switching modes tab, you have the enter key set to browser <> viewer.

You open a directory. You key enter on image 1 to view it. A child window, or tab, opens with the image.

You key enter to return to the directory.

You want to look at image 2. You key enter and a child window opens with image 2. You key enter again to return to the directory. You then want look at image 1 again. You do the obvious thing and key enter. You see image 1 again.

However, when I did this, I got two child windows of image 1. Actually when I got on to this, I had 9 open windows and wondered how I did that.

I really didn't want 9 open child windows of the same image.

I tried changing some of the view options, and they didn't result in a single open window for each image.

I found a discussion at

http://newsgroup.xnview.com/viewtopic.p ... iple+views

that seemed to relate to this issue, but as a new user I had difficulty following it and the references to prior options.

Looking at the thumbnails on open tabs doesn't fix this problem because after four or five open tabs, some go off screen.

Is there a way now to say open only one tab for each image viewed but allow for multiple different images opened concurrently?
