I’ve just downloaded free XnView to open a film in a .CDR format. XnView didn’t open it. In the Info pull down the list of supported formats does not list .CDR
On the XnView website it says it does. Can you help?

Thanks,

Les

:) Hello !
…I’ve just downloaded free XnView to open a film in a .CDR format.
• There is a confusion there, because normally *.CDR is a Corel usual image format which is supported.

• But AFAIK, a video *.CDR format is unknown yet, if you mean that you downloaded a movie.
• Please, try to send a sample to the Author (<= 10 MiB as an e-mail attachement…)
or place it on a reachable server with a valid URL…

XnView can only open cdr files with thumbnail
A bit more precise: XnView can only read and display the thumbnail preview embedded in the CDR file. The thumbnail is embedded by Corel Draw or Corel Photopaint, respectively, when saving the image. The thumbnail is optional, if it's not embedded you won't be able to see anything in XnView browser or image view. Quality of embedded thumbnail is comparatively low, sufficient for browsing but for viewing it's no good.
There's little XnView can do about it because CDR format is a proprietary vector format of Corel.
