One particularly useful facility for me is XnView's ability to convert picture format to pdf with the installation of ghostscript. However, after updating to the latest version and running that on a flash drive it no longer seems to work.
Is this because the latest verison (1.90.3) has a glitch or because one has got to install a different version or whatever of ghostscript. I don't know and would be grateful for help.
I have found XnView outstanding and am grateful to Pierre-e for its development.
thanks

Ihave GS 8.54 and XNV 1.90.3, and don't have any problems. What version of ghostscript are you using?
At a guess, I'd say the problem lies somewhere in using the flash drive. Perhaps some files got misplaced when you put it on the flash drive, or perhaps it's looking for a file on the flash drive when it should be looking on the harddrive (or vice versa)?

I've got ghostscript 8.54. It would seem you're right it is something to do with running from USB. It will convert to pdf though - but will not show in the file list. Checked associations - pdf ticked.
Is it possible to put ghostscript on the USB somehow - probably not. I'll have to investigate further. For example i could try the old version (1.82.4) on USB (currently on hard disk) and see if there is a difference. I'd then know whether it was between the version there is a hitch or perhaps running off USB. I put this latest version on USB as it said it was portable and i'm putting most apps on USB for portability and ease of updates.
thanks

No, xnview use the registry entries created by AFPL ghostscript. Yes, could you try with an old version?Drahken wrote:I think it's because you have xnview on the flash drive and ghostscript not on the flashdrive. You mightget away with just copying the gsdll32.dll and gsdll32.lib files from the ghostscript->bin folder into xnview's folder.
