This links to XnView DeLuxe, the commercial version of XnView.

XnView is free for private usage, XnView DeLuxe is not. It has more functionality than XnView and is also developed by Pierre for the company Xzeos Sofware.

Some of the extra functionality of XnView DeLuxe (taken from XnView Website):

* Album management, category management
* Export wizard, retouche wizard, email wizard
* Show HTML, PDF
* Show SVG, Flash if plugin is installed
* Convert image into PDF
* Project management
* Transitions and audio in slideshow
* Slideshow export in EXE, video, CD, VCD & SVCD
* Better player (mp3, ogg vorbis, ...)
* Show content of ZIP, RAR, CAB & ACE
* Archive create
* Send by email, FTP
* Enhanced web pages with templates
* Advanced search
* Preview in context menu

More details and a 30 day evaluation version can be found on the web pages for XnView DeLuxe in English or in French.

The URL at the very Top is Erroneous!!

to eliminate chance for confusion, probably best to use the directory root or...

to add the proper MIME type extension ;)
http://www.xnview.fr/site_uk/index.html

also, just above, the URL doesn't go direclty to xnview deluxe at xzeos-- instead, try this URL for the same resource:
http://www.xzeos.net/site_xzeos/produit ... ed_uk.html
i think the keyword is "reloaded" in the url (mods, please edit as appropriate, or necessary)

this is interesting. i often wondered about this, but when i asked about it previously, i think my inquiry was overshadowed by other discussion. i believe i asked "what is the 'registered version' of XnView" when either forum mod or xnview developer once posted a reply, mention an XnView 'other' version-- the point being, i recall a credible source mentioning a "registered XnView version", or a "bought version" , or something of that nature (the mod, he is not one and the same person as our gracious developer, correct? is there collaborative development? i've been confused, and curious about this as well!)
:)

how fortunate we are, and grateful should we be for the benevolence bestowed upon us in XnView (free version). I'm very happy to see that there is a deluxe version to reward these gentlemen (and ladies of course, if applicable!)

Thank you for your interest, claification, and accolade for XnView. :-) XnView (free) is developed by Pierre, the same applies for XnView DeLuxe but Xzeos has all the rights and Xnv DeLuxe is commercial, only. Often, Pierre has little time and is not too verbose, so this might have been the reason why the answer was not so clear at that time.

Development of XnView DeLuxe is discontinued, but it still has various interesting features and advantages compared to XnView. By the time Pierre will add things in XnView, but we will keep an eye that it remains simple at the same time.

Various info regarding XnView and XnView DeLuxe:
- What is XnView DeLuxe?
- Deluxe is dead, Hourra for XnView

anytime! it's the least i can do for one of my most frequently used software programs!

i only wish i had the excess fortune to send a gift / donation to help further development. as it stands, i have very little fortune, so i use all of the "Free" software i can get my hands on!
ya know what-- it's the Free which are also so often the best choice in apps as well! remarkable how it turns out sometimes. that old saying "you get what you pay for", definitely does NOT apply to software!!

(sorry to get off on a tangent, but...)

i guess a lot of it just depends on how money-hungry someone is-- for example, i've seen apps so cheesy as to be probably little more than a simple script to organize CSV files for insertion into PHP's fopen() function (an Excel to MySQL converter anyone?), selling for $25 cause they know there's some beginner out there who will buy it-- for twice the price probably if they needed it bad enough. know what i mean? it's rather disgusting... but, that's just my opinion and no one must agree. ;)

True in some respects. At a stage, people are free and independant, for example as student or as single. But at another stage you have to face the facts and earn money, so often the developers are under pressure and have to give up freeware. This applies to many freeware softwares, fortunately it doesn't until now for XnView. :-)

Sometimes the tangent is the right way.

All very true. There are many good guys out there, but also a number of bad guys which can really cause a lot of pain in the a%&.

thanks for sharing your thoughts. it's nice to see a bit of a "personal trait" show through, such as your Wisdom!

:)

you're right about the stages in life!
hopefully, it is easy to see the difference between money-hungry, and hungry in general (as in , for food).
;)

i suppose it's easy to point a finger and pass judgment, but it takes more work (and a better man, i suppose) to try to stand in someone's shoes and realize why a decision is made, w/ all of lifes 'other' things as influences, and then decide.

best wishes to you!
