Using XnView v1.91.4, when I add some IPTC-data to an image and click the "Write" button, the IPTC-data is immediately stored in the image.
But when I click "Apply" in this IPTC-dialog the data is remembered (as I can see in the IPTC-information box afterwards) and the image gets marked as changed.
So far so good, but when closing the file I have two options: don't save or save (overwrite) the file.
When closing the file I am asked "Do you want to save changes to xyz.jpg?" When I confirm I am told that the file already existed and am asked if it should be overwritten.
Two issues here:
a) If I hit "No" (to not overwrite the file) the image is just closed without saving and the changes are lost. Instead, there should be a dialog asking for a filename
b) If I hit "Yes" (to overwrite the file) the file gets overwritten with all other changes but the IPTC changes are lost.

Re: IPTC-Data not saved
I can't confirm, for me iptc are saved correctly.Crysler wrote:b) If I hit "Yes" (to overwrite the file) the file gets overwritten with all other changes but the IPTC changes are lost.

Hi,
i do not have an aply button. I use the German version and have only write and close on the bottom. All other button ar for stationaries. But i found that the merge options are not working. So if i mark a couple of images with different catchwords and want to add a city i overwrite or add all the catchwords to all pictures.
