I just noticed that Microsoft's "Copy To\Move To" context menu in "Windows Explorer" defaults to "My Computer" however when you open "My Computer" it then defaults to "My Documents"

Open XnView, select file, right-click, Copy To, file is copied with no user warning of where it's going.
???? I've not changed that, you should have the dialog!!
Next, I fill in the "Copy To" and "Move To" fields in Options (C:\Downloads), right-click, Copy To, A Dialog box is produced with no folder allocated in the tree and the folder in the dropdown list isn't "C:\Downloads"
Next, I tried the hotkeys Ctrl+Alt+C and M and worked like the first paragraph. Forget the hotkeys they aren't needed.
Sorry but i don't understand. If you use Copy/Move to, the dialog box is opened. If you use Ctrl+alt+C/M the default folder is used.
Pierre.

Sigh, what a mess!
Yes to the first question, we have a new bug.

It's 2:30am in the morning and I'm tired, the way things are going I want you to forget this request altogether and return things to the way they were in v1.91.4 otherwise v1.91.5 will be a very buggy short lived release.

I need sleep.

Ok, good night. There is an error in the build, please try to download it again.

The new build is like v1.91.4 all over again, "Copy To" dialog needs to forget the folder it last used for "Floppy\CD\DVD\UNC paths"

- Open XnView
- Select File
- Copy To -> Dialog Box's Folder Tree is in My Computer
- Select C:\Downloads folder
- Choose Copy
- Exit XnView
- Open XnView
- Select File
- Copy To -> Dialog Box's Folder Tree is in My Computer (NOT C:\Downloads)

My Computer's CLSID is {20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}

I don't see why this is so hard to implement it should have been this way ever since the beginning of XnView.

Remembering the last used folder is only useful if you use XnView with a HDD and nothing else! No optical drives, usb drives or UNC paths.

I don't know about test build, but consider the following setting when looking at this:
Interface>Recent Lists>[x]Purge most recently used files and directories on exit.
It will clear last used folder and possibly nullify a new function. Using a fixed location would avoid this problem, though 'last-used' also good.

Holy crap!!
That works really well, no good for anyone who does like MRU's but that's not a problem for me.

I hope XnView 2.0 has an option to disable All MRU's but one can only wish :)

Now that you mention it, I'm not sure a MRU list is needed either. I was just thinking that the purge function was pointless. :)

Yes, I'm happy with the solution marsh has provided.

In XnView 1.91.5 beta...
CTRL+ALT+C opens Trillian Options dialog (don't laugh this is serious!)
CTRL+ALT+M moves Files perfectly

Down the track users will want a "Are you sure you want to Move\Copy this file to <folder>" Yes\No prompt.

It's probably Trillian's global shortcut, try to disable it.

Ctrl+Alt+ shortcuts are often used as global shortcuts, but it's really hard to choose another shortcuts. :(

Yes, you're right.
I've disabled it in the Automation area.

CTRL+ALT+C now works perfectly.
