A big problem I'm having with cropping

Post by Username1234 »

Hello,

I am using XnView for a few weeks now, and I am very impressed. Even though it offers so many functions it still manages to be a rather easy tool I could handle immediately. Kudos to the programmer(s)!

I'd have a suggestion though, which is also just a question in case that's already implemented, and I have one major problem:

Yesterday I toyed around with the software looking for a lossless JPG-cropping. I marked an area and found the menu entry... and that was that! I practically deleted a very good picture I took!

There simply is no warning that this would be a final step! No Undo, no trashbin, since the picture itself is not deleted. Nothing. I lost that picture for good, just toying around with XnView.

I think that's totally unacceptable. There must be a warning, or even better: an UNDO function! Don't you agree?

Well, that's basically it. EXIF import would be great.

Cheers

But there is a dialog box shown, perhaps you have clicked on 'don't show again'??

thanks for your reply!

well, i have not actively clicked on something like a warning box or a setting turning that off. there wasn't something like that.

of course if usually something like that is supposed to pop up, then this problem seems aknowledged by the programmer and my post here was not justified.

anyway, an undo funtion for jpg cropping would still be handy.

cheers

In your xnview.ini, try to remove the ShowAgain=... line
