Thank you!!! from a new user

I'm not sure if this is the appropriate place for this, or if the developers read this forum at all, but I just wanted to say THANK YOU. I was a long-time user of ACDSee and with every version since 2 it's been getting worse and worse as the developers consistantly ignore what the end users want in exchange for shoddily implemented and half-assedly tested product. They then shovel this product to the consumer who then basically are forced to beta test a half-working product, then very few of the problems are fixed, more problems added, and a new version is released (as opposed to an update) so everyone is either forced to drop the thing entirely or shell out more money for a broken viewer. I was never entirely happy with irfanview (it's a fabulous product, but it just doesn't behave in the way I prefer). So after the most recent ACDSee update I decided I couldn't, and wouldn't take it anymore and I starting going through every image viewing program I could find. And the buck stopped here. XnView is everything ACDSee could have been had the developers not been unresponsive to their own customer base and arrogant.
I've been using Xn for all of a couple hours now and I have it behaving exactly how I want it to work, with no odd problems, weird bugs, or anything. It just works, and it's a breath of fresh air. Thank you again.

Other than that, I have a new default image viewer and something to recommend to friends.

gothate,

I was in the same boat as you. Used ACDsee up until v5. Got fed up with all the problems so I went looking for something better. Irfanview is good for some tasks but very awkward as a viewer which is what I was looking for. XnView is fast and exactly what I needed. Been using it for only a couple of months and it is the most used apps on my PC.

This morning I needed something that would open a psf file. Searched around for about 10mins and stumbled across Xnview, and WOW, what a product. I too have used Irfanview for a long time and been extremely happy with it - it just couldn't do my psf file. But this! It's easy to use, quick and very stable. I too would like to say a huge thank you!

gothate et al,

thank you all very much for your nice words, your 'stories' and your accolade for XnView! These 'Thank yous' surely go to Pierre, the author of XnView, but also to all the contributors helping in various areas!

Pierre is very busy at the moment, I guess he will read your posts in the next couple of days.

PS:
Pierre, I and other people visit this newsgroup regularly, so it's not a wrong place to drop your note. But in this newsgroup you'll find only few notes like yours, since they normally go to the guestbook, see topic 'Welcome!'.
