Another question: How do I activate the chequered background for transparent images?
I have selected "Use chequerboard pattern as background" in options (under "View"). Background stays grey (the background colour of my preview-window). I´ve played around with View->preview->Alpha channel but no success.
I know it should work, because I managed to activate it on another computer. Is the feature buggy or is it just me?
EDIT: It seems to not work with GIFs with transparency. Transparent PSD works fine.
EDIT 2: It also appears that the menu in View->Preview is getting messed up. Once I've checked the three options ("Use transparent index...", "Use alpha channel" and "Show mask"), they won't get unchecked again.
This has of course added to the confusion when figuring out the transparent GIF. Both 1.91.6 and 1.92b2 has this bug.
Trying to figure out chequered background.

Re: Trying to figure out chequered background.
For now this feature is limited to 32-bit BMPs, ICOs, PNGs, TGAs and TIFs.

Yes you are right, but still the menu is not working properly (at least on my computer). Please read below:

Sorry, I didn't see that you had edited your initial post.Troken wrote:Yes you are right, but still the menu is not working properly (at least on my computer). Please read below:

I can confirm this inconsistent behavior for v1.91.6 & v1.92 beta 2 on Windows 2000 SP4 with 32-bit PNGs:
- View mode
- Use transparent index <=8bits is greyed out.
- You can switch Show Mask and Use alpha channel on & off independently.
- Use transparent index <=8bits is not greyed out.
- When Show Mask is enabled in the context menu, you can't activate Use alpha channel.
