Hello,
I have a question concerning custom thumbnail labels:
- When the string entered for the description of the info to be shown is too long, it gets cut of after hitting OK. I don't know if this is a limit on the number of items or characters.
- When the thumbnails are not wide enough to display the full length of thumbnail labels they are cut off. But when thumbnails are wider than something like 350px the length of the labels is not increased anymore, even if there were more information to display.
Is it possible to remove these restrictions? I would like to see as much IPTC and EXIF information as possible. And some words take a lot of space ("Multi segment (5)" and the like).
Could you make the text box to enter wider? A lot wider, like 5 times? So one could see the whole text entered at once.
One more problem:
messurement charactereistic, Exposure mode and flash information are not read in Pentax raw files (.nef).
regards
Joachim

Re: custom thumbnail labels
Yes, normal. The label is only 1 linejotess wrote:I have a question concerning custom thumbnail labels:

The length of label follow the width of thumbnail- When the thumbnails are not wide enough to display the full length of thumbnail labels they are cut off. But when thumbnails are wider than something like 350px the length of the labels is not increased anymore, even if there were more information to display.
Oh i see, you want to have labels wider than thumbnail width, right?Could you make the text box to enter wider? A lot wider, like 5 times? So one could see the whole text entered at once.
So send me a sample, pleasemessurement charactereistic, Exposure mode and flash information are not read in Pentax raw files (.nef).

Of course. But 1 line of very limited length!Yes, normal. The label is only 1 line
Yes, but only up to a certain length. When the thumbnail becomes wider, the line does not become wider any more. The length of label follow the width of thumbnail- When the thumbnails are not wide enough to display the full length of thumbnail labels they are cut off. But when thumbnails are wider than something like 350px the length of the labels is not increased anymore, even if there were more information to display.
No, that was not what I meant - Although this might sometimes help as well. Here I meant the text box in the options dialog where I can enter the variables. (If it worked the way I wish, then I could increase the width of the label by setting the thumbnail width to a higher value. Then the line needn't be longer than the thumbnail width. I hope this is somehow clear to understand.)Oh i see, you want to have labels wider than thumbnail width, right?Could you make the text box to enter wider? A lot wider, like 5 times? Sorry, .PEF of course!messurement charactereistic, Exposure mode and flash information are not read in Pentax raw files (.nef).
To REMOVED? OK, it's on its way.So send me a sample, please

Hi,
this is a copy of my direct e-mail. There I have attached screenshots of what I mean. If it is possible to upload it somewhere to the forum I'll do so, you would have to tell me how.
In thumbnails view: The space marked red is not used for longer thumnails. (screenshot_XnView_tn-labels_marked.gif)
In the options dialogue: The text box is not long enough to see all entered text at once. (If the list above was wider this would be nice too, but that's not that important.) (screenshot_XnView_tn-labels-options.gif)
When I enter variables exceeding the limit, they are still displayed in the text box. (screenshot_XnView_tn-labels-options2.gif)
After hitting OK and reopening the dialogue you see where the entry has been cropped. (screenshot_XnView_tn-labels-options3.gif)
The label itself is cut off at a different point. (screenshot_XnView_tn-labels2.gif)
