How make a image transparent on special place?

Post by Daniel5 »

Hello

Sorry for asking, but i don't find out how to make a image transparent at a special place.

For example, i made a navigationbutton 150x20px with round corners.
I colored the corners in red color ff0000.
Now there are in each corner 3px in red color.

How must i preced to make all those 12 red pixels transparent ?

With IrfanView i can take a pipette at the and and click on that color i want to have transparent...

Thank you

1) Click colors->convert to colors.
2) Check the "apply to image" box so that you can see exactly what ytour choices will do to the final image.
3) Choose any number of colors from the dropdown box. For dithering, choose either "none" or floyd-stienberg, depending which looks better on your image. Never choose the bayer one (it results in a smaller filesize, but looks horrible). Then click apply.
4) Now click the image menu again & look down at the bottom, the "edit colormap" option should now be available. Click it, choose the color you want (red in this case), and check the "enable transparenmcy" box.
5) Save as a gif or png.
