1.93.6B1 - Vista - RAPI.dll

Post by JohnFredC »

Well brave me finally installed Vista in a parallel partition on Monday, so all of a sudden I'm testing XnView on a naked Vista system! Hope that's a good thing... :?

XnView 1.93.6B1 kept reporting that "This application has failed to start because RAPI.dll not found."

RAPI.dll is a file used by ActiveSynch. I posted a version (from an XP system) into Vista's System32 folder and all is well.

I am pretty sure that message is new to this beta. It did not appear (on the Vista system) in 1.93.5.

But why does XnView need RAPI.dll?

Delete pocket.xnp from "C:\Program Files\XnView\AddOn", this plugin requires the evil thing :)

BTW I have WinXP Pro SP2 with Vista Inspirat 2 pack installed and it's really nice if like the look of Vista.
