Support for ARW of Sony Alpha 200

Post by LMQT »

Hi there,

Is it possible to have support for the ".ARW" format of Sony used in their Sony Alpha 200 ?
Currently only Alpha 100 and Alpha 700 are well supported, Alpha 200 produce green picture when readed in full screen (while previous is correct).

Thanks by advance :D

:) Hello !
…Alpha 200 produce green picture when readed  :P in full screen (while previous is correct).
• I downloaded your sample, it works perfectly here in 1.93.6-ß3!
- I can swithch to full screen in “View” and in the “Browser”, no problem.
- XP-Pro SP1 (and only 16 BPP as screen colour depth…)

 Kind regards,
Claude

The problem is that the only version I have, and the only one on the site, is the v1.93.4 :?
Where can I obtain this beta please ?

PS : and just one thing to be sure ;) : is it the entire picture (3872x2592 pixels) you have in correct colors, or just the integrated preview (1600x1080 pixels) ?

:) Again…

• You can download the new ß HERE.
- Just update by changing the EXE and the new files "by hand", it's that I do always…

• I don't get the laaaarge pic, but that you call a "preview", is it another embedded format, or the thumb nail ?
- Anyway, I tested with 1.93.4, you're right, all is green in all view modes.
- Anyway, the correct preview is better than "green", and I assume that XnView is "blind" for the main large pic.
It took ~100 Mio RAM to load it here, though, and I can't renew such tests, that risks to hang the PC totally
(I've only 512 Mio RAM installed, shared with the on-board video card…)
• Wait and see the Author's opinion now ;)

With XnView 1.93.6 Beta 3 the image is displayed as thumbnail and as preview. In image view, the image has 3880x2608 pixel. On the left side of the image one can see a white vertical stripe, about 13 pixel wide. Not sure whether this is part of the image or a bug.

Clo => yes it is an embedded format, little than the entire picture.
Thanks for the link to the beta ;)

Helmut => tested with this beta 3 (by copying the whole archive, not juste the .EXE) : it works now, I haven got neither strippes nor green picture :P
Just one thing : it recognise my photo as 1940x1304 pixels instead of 3882x2608

Here is a shoot of XNView with the .ARW in it => http://images3.hiboox.com/images/1808/cda6e4oj.jpg

PS : is it possible to transfert this topic in an english (or french) section please ? Because I can understand russian :(

Can't understand => it's in french now :?: :?:
Perhaps some strange things because I'm not registered.
Please forgive my request ;)

Nota : it is just at status-bar display : when I convert an ARW, size is correctly interpreted, idem when I read the properties of the picture ;)
