My XnView color schema is mostly black and dark gray (like LightRoom). However, when the Compare panel displays, the backgrounds are bright white (for each image panel) and the current menu color (for the window background).
Are there INI settings that control the background colors in the Compare panel?

And one more thing....
Is it possible to change the way compared pictures are displayed? I mean... for example: vertical/horizontal style...

Hello John !
instead of the «old eyes killer» white.
• Indeed, I support that as a suggestion !

Hello John !
• As far as I know, not any (yet)… At least, the BG could use the default Windows theme colour (i.e. here “Cream”)…Are there INI settings that control the background colors in the Compare panel?

Fixed layout
kubasasasa
Hello !
• Currently, the layout of the compared images can't be changed at will…
- The only thing you can do is to use tabs when there are several (>2) images to compare.
- That window is modal, each image area can't be moved by the user …
… but I would bet that John has some solutions¦suggestions on the back burner
