In my previous post "slide show enhancements" I asked for "2a. ability to change text position PER SLIDE [this is not particularly important, IMO . . .]"
After speaking with a number of users and making a number of new slide shows myself, I *do* think this is very important and would like to add a further request.
I think MULTIPLE positions and even fonts for the "show information" feature should be specifiable ... and better yet, PER SLIDE.
For example, it would be VERY convenient to be able to put a caption in the bottom center, the date in the top left, the filename in the top right and a "watermark" in the center/center (or similar).
One possible UI for this would be a dialog box "table" with 9 entry positions (i.e. top: left, center, right; middle: left, center, right; bottom: left, center, right).
Into these fields one could place the relevant tag such as <IPTC> or <Filename>
I would also put the font and background options as buttons right beneath each field so that secondary AND tertiary dialogs do not need to be opened to achieve this. [Obviously a secondary is necessary, but the 3rd is superfluous.]
I am attaching a mock up of the dialog as I envision it. [Sorry it is not perfectly aligned -- the dialog editor I have available today is lame!]
I also suggest that this all be put into a section called something like "text annotations." According to a lot people I support, "show information" is unclear and also difficult for them to remember.
Finally, how to make this work PER SLIDE, I can't yet envision.
Slide Show enhancements - text annotations
