Currently, viewing vector formats is only possible using GhostScript (see topic 'How to display vector formats? GhostScript!'). But computers get faster and faster and people might want the thumbnails, accepting the bad performance. So perhaps an option "Display thumbnails for vector formats (slow)" might be a good idea.
