XnView not responding after installing DVD drive

Post by pezu »

Hi

I have used XnView for a year now, great program!! But when I got me a DVD burner LG-4163 this problem appeared. XnView crash, not responding.
Everything else in my machine works nice, DVD burning / watching / backup no problem what so ever, except for XnView which do start but it seems that it fails when it tries to go through the folder structure on my computer.

The question I have, is there any way to find out why XnView crashes, could it be a timeout. I'm just guessing here, but asuming I have a faulty or slow access to my DVD drive (it is kind of slow in the start?) could this cause XnView to time out?

Any other good ideas?

(and yes, I've reinstalled XnView, several versions of it )

My system..
ASUS A7V266-E
512MB DDR
ATI RADEON 8500
IBM Deskstart 60GB
CD-RW Samsung
DVD-RW LG-4163
XP + SP2 + latest updates

Uninstall all packet writing software like InCD.
Install latest Nero 6.6 Reloaded.
Enable UDMA on all CDRW and DVD burners.

I do not really understand, when do I start it?

Anyway, XnView program starts and the window pop up. Then it seems that it searches for files & folders. During this phase it get stuck, and after a while ' XnView not responding'.

Thanx...

That was the trick. I would never figured this out by myself. What is it with this inCD stuff, why does this disturb XnView??

However now Xnview works again...great!!

I'm impressed. :o Very good answer. Looks as if you experienced the problem yourself?
