1.95: Creating strip images: Wrong cropping with spacing
A bug (or a function which I don't understand?), already existing in older versions:
***************************************
Edit - maybe I had a confusion between 1.94 and 1.95B2. It seem to work in 1.95, but I will not erase the posting because there seem to be another problem (see following):
I you create a "strip of images" with spaces between the columns, there seem to be a problem with calculating the width of images and spaces.
Example 1:
Take 50 images, each 5 cm wide, and "10 thumbs per row" - everything OK, you will see 10 images.
Example 2:
Take 50 images, each 5 cm wide, "10 thumbs per row" and "spacing 10 (or 20 or ...)" - you can see that the last thumb does not fit to the new image strip, because the spaces push it outside.
See here:

***************************************
Question or bug?
If I select "automatically adjust width and height" and use spaces the result is:
The first thumb starts at the left border - then come the spaces and next thumbs - the image ends with a small space at the right border.
Is this correct? Either it should fit the whole row in the image and has no space at left and at right border - or it place the same space at left and right. But now the result is a little bit confusing.

Additional aligment functions
BTW - the positioning (horizontal and vertical) in offers a lot of combination:
e.g. Fixed width of the final image:
- fit to width and scale the size of the thumbs
- fit to width, fixed spaces and scaled thumbs
- fit to width, fixed thumbs and scaled spaces
- fit to width, fixed spaces between and fixed spaces left and right and scaled thumbs
- fixed width, fixed thumbs, fixed spaces and centre alignment in the picture (equal, large spaces left and right)
.......

Re: Creating strip images: Wrong cropping with spacing
Hello Pierre
maybe there is a confusion what we are talking about, but ...
And
"Creating strip images: Wrong placement of lines"
http://newsgroup.xnview.com/viewtopic.php?t=16031
still exists too.

automatically adjust height or width
Next confusion:
I select
- 200 images (each 1 x 1 cm)
- "Mosaic"
- 10 per row
- spacing v and h = 10
- 50 cm wide
- 100 cm height
and "create a strip".
And there is no difference if I enable or disable "automatically adjust height or width" - in both cases the thumbs of the images are scaled to approx. 5 x 5 cm.

Re: Creating strip images: Wrong cropping with spacing
I can't confirm, could you send me the sample image used?Peter2 wrote:maybe there is a confusion what we are talking about, but ...... still exists.Peter2 wrote:...Question or bug?

Re: 1.95: Creating strip images: Wrong cropping with spacing
Result in 1.95.4:
Peter
This seem to be my fault - it is not possible to press "10 images plus spaces" without scaling in a limited paper size ...Peter2 wrote:...
