Thumbnail view like Picasa and some other questions

Post by Fred-Erik »

Hi, I have some questions about Xnview.

First question: is it possible to set the thumbnail-view (browser) to display thumbnails like Picasa does? So when I view a directory with other folders in it with images, it displays the images right away instead of displaying the folders with only a preview of the photos in that folder. So I have a directory called 'Photos' and in there, I have directorys like 2008.02.01 and 2008.08.13. I want to be able to view all the pictures at once, like this:

Image

Edit: For the record, I am aware of the option to 'Show files in subfolders', but that just makes a mess of things, as I do want to be able to know where one folder ends and the next begins; and the file tree doesn't point you to the part where that photos are, but only shows that images, it opens the directory like normal.

Second question: is it possible to let Quick Slide Show use transistions, or let the 'normal' slideshow start immediatly from the image I'm currently viewing?

Final question: is it possible to automatically stretch a video on opening, instead of having to press / everytime I open one?

When I know how to do these things, XnView would be even greater. ;) Thanks already!

Hello,
First question: is it possible to set the thumbnail-view (browser) to display thumbnails like Picasa does?
+1 Like Digikam too...

Maybe first into the MP version ?

Second question: is it possible to let Quick Slide Show use transistions, or let the 'normal' slideshow start immediatly from the image I'm currently viewing?
Right, in this case, maybe the best way is to suppress the " Quick Slide Show", and allow to the normal "Slide Show" the zoom function (as into the "Quick Slide Show"), the "start immediately from the image" (as into the "Quick Slide Show" too via the key "Pause Attn"), etc...

Or leave these two Slide Show (normal & Quick), but harmonize them, see here:
http://newsgroup.xnview.com/viewtopic.php?t=16025

Code: Select all

For a next release:
I think it's better to have the same keys behavior for "Slide Show" and "Quick Slide Show".
So It's better to have PAUSE = SPACE into the quick slide show as default too
(options\keybord/mouse\space = Start\Stop Quick SlideShow), like into the v1.94.2 for the normal Slide show to start or stop the timer.
(and Up/Down keys or top/bottom for next/previous too, etc...).
Without this bug too:
The Info-Text blinks two times per image into the Quick Slide Show:

And maybe also with this suggestion:
Add into the contextual menu, and launch directly the timer into full screen mode the quick slide show function:

Ehrm, is this already possible, or is it a suggestion from you to the developer of XnView?

And what about the last question?
Final question: is it possible to automatically stretch a video on opening, instead of having to press / everytime I open one?
