Convert JPGs to camera compliant format?

Post by Jon_J »

This is my first post and I have searched many subjects with "camera" in them.
What I'm looking for, Is there a way to save a random JPG file (downloaded from the net, or rotated in XnView) to a camera compliant JPG, which can be viewed on the camera's LCD viewer?
I have a Nikon Coolpix L16. If I copy photos off my SD card and rotate them in any Windows program, they are no longer viewable on the camera.

I have found commandline tool which does this kind of converting, (after installing python) but I would like to know if XnView can do this?

Thank you,
