MP @ OS X: No dir-tree for external drives

[mostly harmless]

I am trying to browse the contents of an external drive (actually a mounted disk image on an external drive).
I find in in the folder VOLUMES shown in the thumbnail area when I select COMPUTER in the directory tree.

Unfortunately I don`t see VOLUMES in the directory tree. That makes browsing significantly less comfortable.
