"TIFF Revision 6" produces a TIFF version 5.0 file

Post by Roadkill »

One of the Batch Processing format options is "TIF - TIFF Revision <b>6</b>".
When checking the output with JHOVE the file is reported to be "Status: Well-Formed and valid" (good), but "Version: <b>5</b>.0" (which is not what I had hoped).

Thanks for the reply.

There must be some reason why the "JSTOR/Harvard Object Validation Environment" reports it as a version 5.0 TIFF. I don't understand much of the information, but perhaps you do: JHOVE TIFF-hul Module.

Ok "JHOVE TIFF-hul Module" search for some tags to tell that a TIFF is 6.0, but XnView doesn't write them because not needed...
