Any more progress?

Post by Drahken »

It's been a long time since anything official was posted here, and a long time since the last version was posted. This prog does hold a lot of promise & it's certainly way faster than the regular prog. I'm eager to see a more functional version.

Great to hear! :D

Is there a plan for the most important features or design concepts?

"Only" means that you will stop working on the current Windows version at all, or just for a while?

Good to hear, batch rename and batch convert are very important features, I'll try to test the MP version more from now on... :)

Where should we post feature requests and suggestions for improvements - in the "MP Testing - Feedback", or in the "Suggestions" with some prefix (MP)? Whata about the new forum "MP Testing - Suggestions"?

After i must add batch rename, batch convert & some functions in view mode like resize/canvas/...
good news but...
Will the viewer performance issues ever get addressed ?

recent posts covering the subject:
Viewer performance Issues
progressive preview for big images
Instant Low-res image like Picasa 3

I believe it would be a real shame for xnview and MP not to have this issue addressed. and I know it to be a major reason for a lot of users for not adopting xnview entirely.

These have a high priority for me personally.

Also, please:

-Tune up the toolbar edit system to allow custom icons for buttons that are currently text-only.

-Allow MP to remember the custom theme pasted into the theme XML dialog.

I could live happily with MP for quite a while if only these enhancements were added and the current bug list was addressed.

Thanks for listening!

OK, I'll post few minor suggestions for improvements here. XnView MP looks very promissing even now.

Another suggestion - there are many posts here, in both MP forums, so another forum - "MP Testing - Fixed Bugs & Added Suggestions" is needed IMO.

About viewer performance: FastStone Image Viewer (free download at http://www.faststone.org) has a very fast and smooth viewer, and it has a thumbnail browser that allows drag-and-drop sorting.

Somehow, mentioning FastStone in this thread strikes me personally as inappropriately OT. There are other threads better suited.

Just MHO.

This thread isn't very specific anyway, and there might be other threads where this point could be mentioned, but I actually don't see why it should be inappropriately OT here.

Anyway, I wonder if XnView MP should be just an MP port of XnView with exactly the same features and concepts or if it should be a redesign with some new concepts.

Hum, i've tried it, but not faster than xnview.

It's a port but with some enhance features or redesign...
