Could someone confirm that the mechanisms to assign categories to images is yet to be implemented.
I can maintain the category tree but I can't find any means of assigning categories to images - there's no Set Categories item in the View menu as there is in the Windows version.

Thanks, I was concerned that I might be overlooking something obvious.xnview wrote:I have not yet added 'set categories' in view mode, but don't use it the DB can be changed
I won't be using XNView MP for anything meaningful prior to its release, so changes to the D/B schema during development will not be a problem.

I appreciate that there are no "standards" for representing hierarchies, but there are a couple of conventions. Dotted as in "Sporting Venue.Race Track.Longchamps" and Braced as in {Sporting Venue,Race Track, Longchamps} are two I've come across. The dotted notation is used by IMatch, ACDSee Pro.and idImager (I think).
Hierarchies can be represented in XML, hence they can be represented in the XMP block, although it's much less readable for those of us who didn't learn XML on our mother's knee

Yes, currently i think for categories<=>keywords. For you, supplemental categories should be used too?RightPaddock wrote:[

I'll try to add a try in the next version...I appreciate that there are no "standards" for representing hierarchies, but there are a couple of conventions. Could you send me a sample?RightPaddock wrote:The dotted notation is used by IMatch, ACDSee Pro.and idImager (I think).
ACDsee Pro can write categories in file and not only in DB??
