resize tiff with alpha

is there a way to batch resize a tiff and keep the alpha channel? i tried it again and again and always i loose the alpha channel...

By default alpha is kept, do you use resize or batch/resize?

"by default" was the right hint! thank you !
some time ago i changed a option to "ignore alpha". i thought it would only affect the viewing.
