Keyboard auto-repeat in slide show

Post by TackyTiger »

When I'm in slide show view, I sometimes need to skip a large amount of sequential files.

If I was in normal browse mode, I'd just press and hold the space bar and auto-repeat would kick in.

As far as I can see, this behaviour seems to have been disabled in slide show view. I'd like to be able to press and hold the right arrow key, but it seems to only skip one image then stop.

I've tried looking for a configuration option to change this behaviour, but have had no luck. Am I missing something obvious?

:) Hello ! Welcome aboard !

• When you are in View mode, you can start a “Quick Slide show” with the Pause key, and skip unwanted images forward using the Space-bar… Pressing Pause again stops the slide show,
Back Space to go back in the bunch of images.

That's a handy hint, thanks.

Sorry, I should have explained more, it was really full blown slideshow I was after. I create a .sld file to review a lot of images, I have this set to .5 second delay which is fine most of the time but sometimes I'd like to hold down a key to skip a bunch much faster. When I've finished the current "session", I delete the images I've reviewed from the .sld file so I can start where I left off next time.

:) Again…

• Ah ! I see… Hm… from a running *.sld, I'm not sure that skipping steps be possible currently, it's a script driving a kind of batch operation… But I don't use such .SLDs a lot, so maybe somebody else could have a clue ?
- Perhaps, the Author could add an optional command with which one could speed up the images scrolling
(override and shorten the stated delay temporarily), that -it seems- could lead to the same result, IIUC…
…and a reverse one to get the same backward…
