How do I reset XnView to default color setup?

Post by K5155 »

Hello. I was using XnView to capture screenshots of a computer game (The Longest Journey) that I'm running on my cmputer before hand and I had no problem getting my full color screenshots that I wanted. However, last night, I ran a different computer game (Descent: FreeSpace) and I tried to do a couple screenshot captures of Descent FreeSpace using XnView, and I got a little white pop-up dialogue box after I exited the game where I had to change the color format on this little white dialogue box (I know this little white dialogue box is from XnView's color setup for screen captures) from the default to TrueColor (v1.1), and today when I'm back to capturing more screenshots from my The Longest Journey computer game (I'm using my default hot key; delay set to 0 seconds), but when I look in the folder where I told XnView to put these new screenshots in, I get black screenshots. How can I reset XnView back to it's defaults to where it was (color-wise) before I set it to TrueColor (v1.1) last night?

Why am I now getting black screenshots? How do I fix this?

Thanks in advance.

Could you please describe the steps in XnView and the funtions/menus that you use in a bit more details. Currently, it's unclear what your problem is. Thank you, for your help.

Thanks, anyway - I solved the problem by going into Control Panel > add/remove prorams > xnview and uninstalled XnView. Then I got my original copy of XnView that I have backed up on a disc, copied this backup of XnView back into my computer, installed it, and tested it by running The Longest Journey again and taking a few screenshots - I've now got back my full-color screenshots (brand new screenshots of the next chapter in this game) that I wanted! Yay!
