Hi everybody,
I'm testing Win7 RC right now (Build 7100, german, x64). So far, I've found some hardware
and software which doesn't work at all, or not as expected.
One program I'm having a problem/question with is XnView.
With XP or Vista I could highlight a folder in the folder column, press F2 or right-click it, and
then rename it.
In Win7 this doesn't work. No reaction to the F2 key, and the rename option after a right click
is greyed out.
Is this known, or does anybody know a fix? Thank you!

I can confirm this behaviour , I have the same build, also for 64 bit,
I though may be this has to do something with permissions,
but the same happens whe you start Xnview with administrator rights !!

Yes , in the browser mode , at the list of folders that is,
the field where the thumbs are displayed and the preview-field
does have the ability to rename the image,
and is working properly !

OK ,
remember this is just a release candidate,
could be a bug
,
I wouldn't pay too much attention at this moment

I have the same bug using XNview 1.96.1 under Windows 7 RC x32 French running into Virtual-PC 2007.
I test this strange bug with XNView MP v0.12 and all is OK: there's no problem with 'rename folder' or 'F2' function key...
I think also it come from the RC version because I found another strange bug with this version of Windows:
* capture a screen-shot
* import the clipboard in Xnview
* in Xnview, save it as 'file.jpg' in the root destination of the principal hard disk ( C:\ )
Open the Window's 7 browner: it shows no 'file.jpg' located at root ( C:\ )
!
Try to save this screen-shot in another folder ( i.e C:\ESSAI\file.jpg ) and all is OK with the Window's browner ...

Sorry for the late comment, I was away for a few days.

anything.
Same here, works as expected.OMT wrote:I test this strange bug with XNView MP v0.12 and all is OK: there's no problem with 'rename folder' or 'F2' function key...
Happens here, too. But I don't think this is necessarily a bug in Win7 RC, I suspect that MS changed some API functionsOMT wrote:I think also it come from the RC version because I found another strange bug with this version of Windows:
