Hi,
If an psd file includes an alpha channel, that alpha channel is applied to the first "layer" of the image. (I say "layer" because the first one isn't really a layer but a merge of all the visible layers).
This means if you have an alpha channel, the whole image is not visible, only the opaque part of the first alpha channel.
Whereas if you open the image up in Photoshop, you will correctly see the whole thing.
It may well be that is how it's stored in the psd file, in which case I guess it's a "feature" courtesy of Adobe that you guys can do nothing about... If that's the case, I will suggest the obvious work around in case anyone is else has this problem: make the first alpha channel in your image a solid opaque one (all white).
