Associating custom extensions with existing file formats

Post by autopatch »

After upgrading to the latest version of XnView, I can no longer open Postscript files unless they have a .PS extension. I have turned off the setting "Recognize only by extension." Now I get the message "Format of the file <myfile.mxt> could not be determined" where in the prior version (2002) it opened the file and displayed it successfully.

What I would like to do is associate "mxt" with Postscript and I have not found a way to do that in the .INI file or in the registry.

Is there a way to accomplish this?
