Problems with opening JP2(MM) files

Post by romulus »

I tried opening some 200 Kb JP2(MM) files with pix, however, the opening suspends XnView.
But ER Viewer 7.2 from Leica Geosystems Geospatial Imaging displays them anyway.
Nevertheless, I've been sticking to XnView, as it is more handy in opening files one by another sequentially.

Is there any diversity among JP2 files, which could hinder XnView to open these files in some cases? - I'm not sure I used the very last version of XnView. -

Willingly, sure.

I'm inasmuch interested in solving these problems, as they were library-made with professionals and while using professional soft and hard ware. The features may be read off in the files' features.

If there will be no solution, I will have to convert these some 700-800 files (a book) to the tiff format in order to make the book readable.

To what address should I send the files over, please?

I have no problem to read them. DO you have the JPEG2000 plugin?

Yes, I have. It has been installed within the full version installation, I did not install it manually.
However, it is an older version as of the beginning of 2009.
Windows tries to send a message to Microsoft as the application (XnView) was closed forcingly.

I will try it with another pc and post a message then.
