XnView won't read some JPEGs

Both have error, "Premature end of JPEG file" according to other software.
•Suggestion: Corrupt image indicator ?

I have some jpgs that read fine, but the thumbnails are rotated 90deg!
even when I open the file in PS and re-save, it's the same

Do you have tried to enable 'ignore read errors'?

The embedded thumbnail can be recreated. This corrected a couple of offset 90° samples for me.
• Menu>Edit>Metadata>Recreate EXIF thumbnail
