I'm embarrassed to ask this question--I'm sure it's something obvious. But I can't find/fix it so here goes. Thanks in advance to whomever points out my oversight.
I've installed XnView 1.96.5 on a new Vista computer. Got everything set up just the way I like it--thumbnail sizes, layout, menu bars, icons, file types, etc. In browser mode, however, XnView is displaying something I haven't seen before and can't turn off.
If the folder that I'm looking at has a subfolder, a picture/icon of that folder appears in the browser window. If I change "View...Show Files in Subfolders" to yes, then the files in subfolders are shown as they should be. When I change the setting to no, then a folder icon is shown.
On my XP machine (same version of XnView), "Show Files in Subfolders" work as expected, but there are no folders showing in the browser window.
Please let me know where is the option/switch that controls whether the little folder icons will be displayed.
Thanks.

Re: Little folders
Ty, I believe you need to tick the checkbox for Folders in the (Show item in view) 'Thumbnails' column (Tools » Options » Browser » File List » File List).
Re: Little folders
Yes, that was it, XnTriq. Thanks very much.
