Browsing via keyboard

Post by Karl02 »

I'd like to suggest to improve the keybindings for browsing with the keyboard.

When a directory in the directory pane on the left is selected, it is possible to browse through the directories with the Up and Down keys. However, if a directory has one or more subdirectories, it should be possible to open or close it with the Enter key.

Furthermore, it should be possible to switch to the thumbnail pane with the Tab key and back with Shift+Tab.

Valid also for the MP version.

But only on the numerical keypad! However, the Left and Right keys also work, and they are much more convenient. But perhaps Enter could also be added, because it's more intuitive in my opinion and can be used to toggle between open and closed.

And the tab switching direction should work in the other direction, like in the windows explorer.

In windows explorer, you have only + & -, no?

How that?

Yes, but an additional key won't harm, especially if it's intuitive.

If the focus is on a directory in the directory pane on the left and you press Tab, then the focus switches to the file pane on the right.
