Editing/setting file properties of slideshows

Post by bernieburnham »

While I accept that acknowledgement of the program that was used to create a file is very necessary, especially for a freeware program such as XnView, I would like to request that when creating an SCR/EXE slideshow, there be an option (maybe in the first "Fullscreen/Fixed Size" menu) for declaring the 'File description' and 'File version' properties. Currently the 'File description' is fixed as "XnView Slideshow" and 'File version' is fixed as the version number of XnView used, however this information is repeated in the 'Product name' and 'Product version' properties, which are currently set as "XnView" and the version number of XnView respectively.

Being able to change these properties would be helpful to acknowledge the owner of the photographs used and/or whether the slideshow is an update of a previous version or not. Another solution might be to create additional properties which may be set upon creation (I confess that knowing very little about Windows file attributes I do not know if this is possible).

I hope that this suggestion is achievable, and I apologise if I have neglected any conventions/etiquette of the forum, but this is my first post (I think :? ).
