I'm used to show an image in fullcreen by clicking with the middle mouse button and returning to the previous view by pressing Escape.
For whatever reason that doesn't work anymore and I always have to click the middle mouse button again to leave the fullscreen mode.
I can't remember that I changed anything and can't find a setting that controls this.
Any ideas how i can restore the known behavior of XnView in that case?

Re: ESC key for closing fullscreen view
Returning from viewer to browser via ESC, I have visual artifacts from image leftover in browser view (v.1.97.6; Linux; Wine). When switching back to browser via toolbar button, it works and appears normally.
This setting has no effect for me:
Options... General> {Keyboard/Mouse}> Pressing ESC once quits XnView [___] In all cases it leaves view, but looks unusual.
[Start]
Only1ESC=0

Re: ESC key for closing fullscreen view
And how do you do that, "returning from viewer to browser via ESC" (since that is what my question was about)?
Re: ESC key for closing fullscreen view
Another interesting finding regarding this issue:
I played around with every combination of the settings "Enable navigation with left and right mouse buttons" and "Language" (which I switched between English and German). I did this before but this had no effect.
I just did it again and additionally I checked if the mouse navigation could be overruled with a modifier key like CTRL, ALT or SHIFT.
And guess what? The ESC key works now. Are there any relations between these settings and keys?
Edit: Fortunately this turned out to be some kind of keyboard problem and not a problem in XnView

Re: ESC key for closing fullscreen view
Although this turned out to be offtopic regarding XnView, let me specify this just in case someone else stumbles upon this (might be the case because it's a photo/graphics thing):
This is a Photoshop CS4 issue and since I use XnView along with Photoshop I often experience that.
There are long threads in the Adobe forums about this; as soon as Photoshop is started, the ESC key stops working. Only thing they did about it is to release CS5.
