sort by exif doesn't work in 1st time

i use xnview 1.97.6; sort by exif ist already activated.
sort by exif doesn't work in 1st time on startup. after f5 it works correctly.
the 1st sort on start is not by exif.

I can't reproduce, do you have it with 1.97.8?
