The filename prints on every page

When printing a document from XnView, it may print with the filename centered at the top of every page. This may be fine for some but not others. There is a way to turn off this feature, but it can only be done by printing a document.

To prevent the filename (or other information) from printing on every page:

1. Wait until you are ready to print a document.
2. Be sure your printer is online and has paper.
3. Select Print Setup from the File menu, and then select Print.***
4. Select Print from the File menu.
5. Delete <filename> or other information from the Show Info box.
6. Select Print.

The document will print without the filename (or other information) at the top. Future print jobs will also print without it unless you manually change this option later in the process of printing a document.

To insert the filename (or other information) on each printed page:

1. Wait until you are ready to print a document.
2. Be sure your printer is online and has paper.
3. Select Print Setup from the File menu, and then select Print.***
4. Select Print from the File menu.
5. Click the Insert button from the Show Info box
6. Choose the attributes you would like to print.
7. Select Print.

Unfortunately, you cannot specify where on the page any of these things will print. Perhaps more printing options will come in future versions.

***IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Please note that in order to get to the Show Info box, you must select File - Print Setup - Print before selecting File - Print. If you do not, you will not get the right options and the Show Info box will not display. You must select File - Print Setup - Print first. That will close the Print Setup dialog box, and when you select File - Print, the Show Info box will display. That seems to be the only way to get it to display.

If you intend to change print options on other documents during the same XnView session, File - Print Setup - Print is only needed for the first one. For the other documents , you can go directly to File - Print - Show Info. However, if you close XnView and reopoen it or reboot your computer, you will need to go to File - Print Setup - Print and then to File - Print to get to Show Info again. That may be a bug or it may be by design.

If anyone does not understand, just play around with the Print and Print Setup options in XnView. You'll see what I mean.
