Batch conversion stop converting

I have a feeling this is a common prob, but a search couldn't find a solution and I can't find anythg relevant to the prob in Help.

For some reason I can no longer batch convert file types. JPG to TIFF, or TIFF to JPEG or any other combo. Can anyone pls tell me what I'm doing wrong.

What's happened?

Nothing happens actually, the files remain unchanged. JPEGs remain JPEGS, TIFFs remain TIFFs, etc. Other conversions (like resize) still work, just the file type remains unchanged after the conversion.

I tried upgrading, reinstalling, and now use another (far inferior.. program...

??? Do you have changed the output format?

Yes, changed output format to everyone listed to test each. No change or conversions...?
