A command to remove previously seen files would avoid returning to browser, or a file manager which might use a different ordering.
Consider launching viewer at startup and navigating images 1 through 456 / 9000. Removing images up to, but not including current one (1 - 455) would provide a convenient way of resuming viewing session without revisiting the unwanted.
