I regularly batch process jpg digital images for web use
Images 4368x2912 px resized to 400 px (JPG Quality at 80)
These end up with a file size of 25 to 75 Kb depending on subject.
I have today tried to do the same thing with a batch of images, that I have been able to ascertain were originally in RAW format, then converted to jpg at 402 PPI.
When I try to resize these files, the resultant file size is much larger than usual (over 1Mb).
I have subsequently tried a 2-stage modification - Change PPI to 72, then Resize to 400px. The result the same.
I'm stumped as to what is going on. Is it something to do with the original RAW format. It would seem that the file has lots of data in there that is not being dislayed?
The resulting images are the correct px size - but the file size is not!
Hoping someone may have an answer.
