Would XnView ever require GPU acceleration

Post by budz45 »

Hi,

Just some like video apps on Windows OS take advantage of the GPU for smooth fludi playback, especially Nvidia GPU's. I am wondering if XnView would ever require or even take opportunity of the GPU for both the image viewing and UI functions to make things 'smoother' and 'faster

I hear of something for Nvidia GPU's called 'CUDA' which means that app developers use could utilize Nvidia CUDA to support different Nvidia GPU hardware models or something like that.

This topic especially concerns XnView MP, but also XnView standard too. Also concerns Windows 7 and higher...

Would be interesting to know though.

Yes multi core support is only current in XnView MP, which is fantastic and very efficient.

Hmm so I guess GPU accel is only required for audio and video processing apps e.g. VLC, Media Player Classic etc.. Real intense HD video stuffs.
