Hangs and lags on V 1.97.8 (last stable)

I'm getting several lags, hangs and not responding bugs on XnView 1.97.8.@W7
They only happen when I tried to open files(no matter the ext)in preview mode on folders with more than 300 files. It lags, hangs and sometimes close automagicaly.
Just when I start the browser in XnView and look for my file it don't lags. Also when I close the program It also lags and hangs sometimes.
I don´t know if its something related to the caching or something. Somebody tell me the truth.

Could you try to disabled option/View/Misc>read ahead??
And try the 1.98 beta?
