HP-GL/2 plugin xemfpcl.usr from Oleg Kovalenko

Post by martin_u_fischer »

Hello Community,

the HP-GL/2 plugin xemfpcl.usr (unzipped from xemfpcl.zip) from Oleg Kovalenko
(http://www.xnview.com/de/plugins.html)
does not recognize / open .plt files in XnView version 1.98.
("Format of the file <...> could not be determined").
The .plt files were created by a HP 7475A plotter application.

The xemfpcl.usr plugin resides in the PlugIns directory,
and the .plt file type is associated in the Options menu.
Info / Supported Formats lists HPGL-2 as a readable format,
but Info / Plugins Information only list DLLs.

Is there something special to configure in XnView,
or is the xemfpcl.usr plugin outdated / non-functional?
Any hints & tips?

Thank you for your support
Martin

Not here in the forum. You have to use one of the "upload-websites / share-services".

Hello Pierre (xnview),

Did you ever get a reply from Oleg? Also, where is a file with extension usr supposed to be put to be usable with XnView?

The file xemfpcl.usr has early in the file the words "!This program cannot be run in DOS mode" which suggests that it may be a dll. But I changed the extension, and it doesn't seem to be recognized when put in the plugin directory of XnView anyway.

I need a way other than the proprietary CAD software plugin to be able to view HPGL files.

"Plugins user (must be in 'Plugins' directory with .usr extension)"
