Does XnView support NITF "blocked images" - as described in MIL-STD-2500C section 5.4.2.2 - where a large image is subdivided into smaller tiles?
I have generated a large NITF image (roughly 20000 x 3300) that is divided into 4 tiles of about 5000 x 3300. It would appear that XnView ignores the block information and tries to interpret the pixel data as one large rectangle. I believe that my file is valid, as it is displayed correctly by FWTools OpenEV.
XnView can display an image that is tiled vertically rather than horizontally, but then the pixel data is in 'natural' order anyway so it wouldn't need to do anything special.

Re: NITF Blocked Images
I have emailed a NITF and matching BMP to the webmaster address.
The image isn't very exciting, but it should be enough to test the tiling mechanism.
Note that some blocks (tiles) are padded when the total image size is not an exact multiple of the block size.
Hope this helps.
