I've a couple of issues with "Find similar files" feature. I've been using it quite often lately and noticed an interesting thing. I have a pack of files with similar characteristics (geometrical dimensions are the same as well as the general style - each of these images is a small PNG file, semi-transparent white pattern drawn over the transparent background). When asked to compare images on the "similar picture content" basis with "100% similarity" threshold XnView considers all of these files to be 100% similar, although the patterns are completely different. Moreover, the background in the window with results of the comparison is white, so the contents of these images in the window are distinguishable only when looking at the filename, size and CRC. Is this feature not really able to compare such images with transparency correctly (hence "100% simularity"), or am I doing something wrong? Can the color of the background in this window be adjusted to enable user to visually compare one-colour images?
Another one. When presenting results of any comparison XnView assumes the first file it encounters to be the "reference" for comparison. Other files which are considered to be "similar" can be deleted, renamed or moved. Quite often it is the "reference" that must be deleted, the file considered a "duplicate" being the one I really want to keep. I use the russian localization, and the command to "delete reference" in the context menu is translated inaccurately - I've lost much time thinking this option is absent before I switched to English and figured out it was at its place all the time.
It would be much better to translate "Delete reference + selected file (s)" as "Удалить образец и отмеченные файлы", not as "Удалить файлы отмеченные + ссылки". The same thing with "Copy" and "Move" options.
"Ссылка" in modern computer-related Russian is almost universally understood as a "web-link" or "cell reference" in programming
