How can I integrate a separate XMP sidecar files in the orig

Post by ftomasch »

Hi everybody,

Xnview (and also XnViewMP) reads meta datas (IPTC, EXIF, XMP), which are in a picture file.
In another program I change remarks like caption, headline or keyword. When I do this, an own xmp-file is produced with all the IPTC, EXIF, and XMP entries. The name of the file is the name of the original picture file with the suffix xmp. The origin meta datas in the original picture file have not changed.
When I want to call the meta datas in XnView, the old unchanged entries of the picture file are shown. The new entries, which are in the separate sidecar file, are not shown.
That`s why I have the question, how can I integrate a seperate XMP file back into the origin picture file that exists already?

best regards

Hi,

I have a XMP file (IMGP0247.XMP) that has been produced by Lightroom. There is some keywords in it.

In XnViewMP 0.39, Right click > IPTC/XMP Edit doesn't show any of these keywords.

Is IPTC/XMP for .XMP sidecar files really supported by XnViewMP 0.39 ?

Good luck!

Thanks.
