I'm new to this forum.
I've spent all afternoon trying to convert my Konica Picture Show pix from 2001. XnView says it supports KQP format but I can't get it to work.
Any suggestions?

Hello ! Welcome aboard!
•
Konica Camera File *.kqp is supported
at reading only, thus you can't convert such images into any other format…

Kind Regards,
Claude

Thanks for the quick reply, Claude.
I'm disappointed to learn this.
Does this mean all those thousands of images belonging to Konica PC Photoshow are trapped forever?

Supposedly "thumbsplus" works with KQP files. It's commercial, but there's probably a trial version you could use long enough to convert your pics to a normal format.
I've never heard of this format before, but it appears to be a slideshow/animated kind of format? Have you tried to extract frames?
Also, if xnview will open the pics at all, you could make new pics from screencaps of the KQP ones. It would be somewhat labor intensive & the results wouldn't be perfect, but it'd be better than nothing.

jonezee54, what happens if you change your settings to this:
- Tools » Options... » General » Operations » Display all image file types = activated
Tools » Options... » Browser » File List » Misc » Recognize only by extension = disabled

PC PictureShow was a program developed by Pegasus Imaging (now
Accusoft Pegasus) for Konica (later Konica Minolta).
The software was available as a free download, enabling users to view and convert images encoded in the proprietary KQP (Konica Quality Print) file format.

PC PictureShow is a picture viewing utility that displays your pictures all at once in the Picture Index, or in an automatic PC PictureShow one after another. Pictures can have comments or notes added to each picture or be rotated for viewing in the correct orientation. PC PictureShow also allows you to convert and export the pictures into standard bitmap (BMP) or pict (PIC) image formats for use in other programs such as word processors, paintbrush, or image enhancement software, or into JFIF image format for transmission over online services such as the Internet. You can advance through the pictures forwards and backwards, add text notes, and copy pictures to the clipboard. Pictures can also be removed from PC PictureShow or zoomed to fill the screen.

The most significant update in years, Version 4 adds a number of new options including support for BMP and TIF files, Index Print, and email capabilities, some of our customers' most requested features.

PC PictureShow is a simple picture viewing and editing utility. Designed to work with Konica Minolta PC PictureShow CD and diskette, it will display all of the JPEG, BMP, TIF, PIC, and KQP images in the selected folder. The images can be viewed and printed as an index, individually, or as a slideshow.

This is why propietary image formats suck. They should be avoided whenever possible, and if you can't avoid them completely (like if you have a cheapass camera that forces you to use it) they should be converted to a normal format at the first possible opportunity (ie, as soon as you offload them to your comp, use their software & convert it to any conventional format). Then make sure to archive the good copies & throw away the propietary crap.
